Welcome to the community! The Joint Readiness Training Center and Fort Polk are the "Home of Heroes," nestled in the piney woods of West-Central Louisiana. Fort Polk began with the Louisiana Maneuvers in the 1940’s. Since that time, Fort Polk has grown to cover over 198,000 acres and is located right in the middle of Sportsman’s Paradise. Outdoor fun and recreation encompass the vibe at Fort Polk and surrounding communities. Hunting, fishing, water sports and camping are an enormous draw to the area with activities galore.
